Strong Quake Kills at Least 589 in Southern China

On Sunday, a strong earthquake struck Ludian county, a mountainous part of China, killing at least 589 people, injuring more than 1800 and toppling more than 12,000 homes by now. Specific disaster statistics are still being collated.
